Special Tour at Baltimore Museum of Industry
Join us for an afternoon of inquiry and creativity for all ages. Our special tour will involve stepping into an oyster cannery, watching a demonstration of a printing press, and trying our hand at video game development.
All are welcome for a special group tour of the Baltimore Museum of Industry (BMI).
Baltimore was, historically, a national leader in manufacturing items from umbrellas to raincoats. This local institution tells that story, with lots of hands-on and interactive windows into our city's industrial history. You will likely learn something new about how things are made, something about the role that industries have played in Baltimore’s history, and much more!
The BMI offers opportunities for kids to get into cars from the 1950s and to try their hand at using signal flags and telegraphs.
Local industries such as canning, machine shops, the garment industry, and print shops are brought to life with demonstrations. Attendees may be interested in the current special exhibit: video game development!
RSVP Today! We have 10 paid spaces available on the tour. Get yours now.
We will meet at the BMI beginning at 1pm.
Our special group tour will run from 2-3pm.
