Center Stage production of Lookingglass Alice & Dinner/lecture with Gavin Witt, AM'90
Join us for a quirky and fantastical performance of Lookingglass Alice. During our pre-show meal, Gavin Witt will provide context and insights into the play and its holiday production by the talented folks at Center Stage.
We are excited to announce our first event of the season with Center Stage -- Lookingglass Alice! We thought this fantastical production would be just right for a UChicago audience. Gavin Witt, AM'90, Center Stage Associate Artistic Director/Director of Dramaturgy, will generously provide us with some pre-show notes and insights during a self-host dinner and lecture.
Our schedule of events for the evening is:
6 p.m. Meet at Flavor in the Center Stage building: 700 N Calvert Street (2nd floor), Baltimore, MD 21202
6:30 p.m. Lecture & discussion with Gavin Witt
7:30 p.m. Production of Lookingglass Alice at Center Stage (700 N Calvert Street, Baltimore MD 21202)
If you are looking to purchase a ticket for the event, you are in luck! Center Stage has set up an easy promo code that will let you purchase a ticket at our discount/in our group's block of seats. Please go to Center Stage's website, type in the promo code '18UCHIC,' and select December 17th at 7:30pm. We will be sitting in an excellent block of $39.20 orchestra A Level seats.
*Dinner and refreshments will be self-host, and is not included in the ticket price.
If you already have a ticket for the play but would like to sit with the UChicago group, you can contact Group Sales (410.986.4033) and Shannon or another associate can assist you in moving to our block of seats. If you are happy with your current seats but are amenable to letting us know you are coming (which would be wonderful!), please let Group Sales know or email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you do this in advance, we will email you with the offer of taking your dinner order so that it is ready for you when you arrive (see below)!
The restaurant at Center Stage, Flavor, is pretty fast but there is at least the wait while they are preparing the food and with our big group things may be a little slower. We are happy to take your order in advance so that your food is ready for you when you get to Center Stage! This has the added bonus of allowing you to more quickly go to the lecture location (4th floor) rather than waiting for ten or so minutes at the café (2nd floor) before going up to the lecture location.
We'll be contacting registrants 2 and 1-weeks in advance of the play with the Flavor menu and an offer to pass on your order to Center Stage/Flavor. So, if you would like to take advantage of this spiffy process Center Stage has offered to us, please register/let us know you are coming in advance and we will be happy to help facilitate your dinner order!
Note: Keep an eye out for our planned second Center Stage event of the season -- the TBA play by Kwame Kwei-Armah in late May/early June.
